The discussion focused on why Total Defense is a powerful and relevant concept for Ukraine today, highlighting that resilience and security are built not only by institutions but through the shared responsibility of individuals, communities, and every sector of society.

As Nemo Stjernström, Head of Strategic Communications of the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency, noted:

“Total Defense is when society decides together that it will not be broken and organizes itself around this decision.”

As a response to this need, Liubov Tsybulska, Founder and current Director of the NGO Join Ukraine, highlighted:

“To defend our country, we need to stay united and have a shared understanding of the goals. That is why we developed a course for key leaders from different sectors in Ukraine to jointly create this common understanding”.
