Russian imperialism, which has lasted for over three centuries, is a fundamental aspect of the state's policy in various forms — ranging from the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union to the modern Russian Federation. Culture plays a key role in the strategy of empire restoration. It has become a multifunctional tool through which Russia shapes a favorable worldview both domestically and internationally. Through art, literature, music, cinema, museum exhibitions, and the manipulation of historical memory, the Kremlin creates an image of a state that allegedly holds the "moral right" to intervene in the affairs of other countries.
