Belief in greatness has become a mantra in Russia. But is it really true? We tried to debunk the myths about the "invincibility of the world's second army".
Daily losses of hundreds of soldiers. Equipment burned to the tune of billions. The “second army in the world” stuck in trenches fighting a country whose capital it dreamed of capturing “in three days”. Russians say they are winning. In that case — what does losing look like?
After Putin announced mobilization in September 2022, thousands of Russians began fleeing the country en masse. Border queues stretched for tens of kilometers, and plane tickets were sold out in minutes. Russians fled to other countries to avoid the war they silently supported themselves. Our team couldn’t help but hint to those who actually joined the invaders: “Don’t forget to put some seeds in your pockets”.
In May 2023, Ukrainian air defense shot down a Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile for the first time. The very missile that was “impossible to intercept” was downed by an American Patriot system. This was a real shock to Russian propaganda — the “superweapon” Putin boasted about turned out to be just a myth.
Russia. Victory Parade. 2022. The “getting up from the knees” ended... with a single veteran T-34 tank. “All by myself...”
